LPA to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

MANILA – A low pressure area will bring rains over parts of Luzon and the Visayas, the weather bureau said on Thursday.

Two LPAs were being monitored on Wednesday, but Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said one of these LPAs dissipated early Thursday.

"The other LPA was last tracked 580 km. east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but this will bring rains over the Visayas," he said.

Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Palawan, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

PAGASA's daily weather forecast indicated that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon. Aurelio said fair weather with isolated rains will prevail across the island including the Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
