Public urged to be cautious vs COVID-19

BUTUAN CITY, May 21 (PIA) – As she shared how Sibagatnons strive to survive from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Mayor Maria Liza Evangelista of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur during the Network Briefing News aired on Friday urged everyone to be cautious and follow the minimum health standards to prevent further spread of the deadly virus.
 
She emphasized that the locals in her municipality, in general, are following the health protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. She also recognized the collaborative efforts of the barangay officials for seriously taking responsibility in addressing their respective issues and concerns and for taking care of their constituents.
 
“With this ongoing health crisis, let us help and protect each other. We have 36 COVID-19 positive cases; 2 are active; and 1 death case. We should always be cautious in everything that we do and help ourselves. We reinforce the information dissemination, education and we institutionalized through a local ordinance the minimum health protocols like using face masks, face shield, and social distancing,” she said.
 
The municipality of Sibagat is a 1st class municipality in the province of Agusan del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 30,442 people. (JPG/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
