Pasay's 'Kandili ng Kalusugan Mobile' project helps lower COVID-19 cases -Mayor Emi

CALOOCAN CITY, May 10 (PIA) -- Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said a grassroots health and wellness initiative started by her adminsitration has helped the city keep COVID-19 cases in check.

Mayor Emi said the “Kandili ng Kalusugan Mobile” project may have helped the local government in lowering down coronavirus cases by conducting weekly telemedical consultation in each scheduled barangays in the city.

The free mobile consultations and medicines race to check the health conditions of every resident especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rubiano said.

The mayor said the Kandili ng Kalusugan Mobile mainly focuses on the health conditions of senior citizens and children, two of the most vulnerable sectors in terms of health risks.

Rubiano said that aside from the telemedical consultation, the city government also gives free medicines particularly vitamins to boost the immunity of Pasay residents.

The mayor also said the Kandili ng Kalusugan Mobile was also made for the convenience of residents because they could check up on their health even without visiting hospital.

Meanwhile, as of May 8, 2021, Pasay City recorded a total of 152 active cases with 31 new cases and a total of 13,452 recoveries. (PIA NCR)
