Navy task force delivers free face masks to Pasig, Manila LGUs

PASIG CITY, May 22 (PIA) -- The Joint Task Force National Capital Region, through the Naval Task Force 83, facilitated the delivery of free face masks to the local government units of Pasig and Manila. 

Under the “Libreng Mask Para as Masa” project, a total of 184 boxes of face masks were given to said LGUs.

These will be distributed to underprivileged families to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 infection by enabling and encouraging the public to follow the minimum public health standards by wearing a face mask at all times.

The project is made possible through the National Task Force Against COVID-19, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Budget and Management, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of Civil Defense, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute.

The Philippine Navy remains an active partner to help provide continuous assistance to the people in times of need especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. (PIA NCR)
