Metrobank Foundation donates P1M to fire-hit PGH

PASIG CITY, May 25 (PIA) -- Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) turned over a donation amounting to P 1 million to Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Medical Foundation, Inc. recently.

The MBFI said through the “Helping Hands” program, the donation will aid in the rehabilitation of the hospital’s Operating Room Sterilization Area (OSRA) damaged by fire last May 16.

MBFI Grants and Healthcare Unit head Marievic Mariano turned over the cash donation to PGH Director Dr. Gerardo Legaspi during a simple ceremony witnessed by Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH) Director Dr. Hian Ho Kua and MDH Medical Director Dr. Mario Juco.

The MDH, MBFI’s healthcare affiliate, holds several years of partnership and collaboration with PGH in extending medical assistance to indigents and other medical intervention.

The donation shall fund the equipping of damaged facilities after reconstruction, which includes the purchase of autoclave machines or steam sterilizers, computers, and setting up of a fire protection system. (PIA NCR)
