PASIG CITY, May 25 (PIA) -- The Makati City Government uses a unique computer program that randomizes the brand of COVID-19 vaccine that will be given to qualified residents.

Makati City spokesperson lawyer Don Camiña, however, said residents may decline the brand randomly assigned to them should they find it not to their liking.

“We believe that this is the best way para patas lahat and given equal opportunity sa mga available vaccines,” he said

“Pwedeng mag-decline but we won’t know when their next schedule will be,” he added.

Due to the still limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines, Camiña said the brands in the random computer program are also limited.

“We are using a randomizer computer program depending on the available brands at the time in the [vaccination] site,” he said.

Health experts have urged the public not to be choosey with the brand of vaccine as all of them are effective against COVID-19.

President Duterte had earlier appealed to the public not to be picky with the vaccine brands for the country to achieve herd immunity.

The President's sentiments have been echoed by health and virology experts citing all approved vaccines are safe and effective. (PIA NCR)
