LGU Catarman opens vaccination hub in barangays

CATARMAN, Northern Samar, May 10 (PIA) – In order to achieve the goal of vaccinating those in the A1, A2 and A3 categories that include medical frontliners, health care workers, senior citizens and persons with co-morbidities, LGU Catarman opened more vaccination hubs to cater to those in the priority list for COVID-19 vaccination.

On May 7, 2021, another vaccination hub was opened at Polangi (RHU 2), and UEP Tennis Court, in addition to the existing vaccination center which is located at the Catarman Freedom Park to cater to the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTs) and other priority groups.

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, the vaccination team will go to Barangay Baybay, one of the biggest barangays of Catarman to make it easier for the priority group to get vaccinated.

LGU Catarman, through its FB page, intensify its information campaign and encouraged all eligible population to pre-register online or register through their barangays for masterlisting and schedule.

As of this writing, Catarman has inoculated 1,865 individuals with the Covid-19 vaccines for priority groups A1, A2, and A3. This morning, the vaccination team conducted a pre-assessment for the priority group at the Catarman Freedom Park.

With the increasing number of COVID cases in the province, the provincial government strongly cautions the public against holding activities in large groups and social gatherings as such can be a source of COVID-19 transmission.

The public is also reminded to limit unnecessary physical interactions, always wear a face mask and face shield properly throughout the duration of the activity. (ldl/tbc/PIA Northern Samar)
