DAR Sec to hand-in land titles to 231 CARP farmers in Camarines Sur

NAGA CITY (PIA) -- Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Brother John Castriciones will be in Camarines Sur for a two-day distribution of land titles to 231 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the province.

The first stretch of the visit will be on May 18, Tuesday at the island municipality of Caramoan where he will be welcomed by Mayor Marilyn Socorro Co and Camarines Sur 4th District Representative Arnulf Bryan “Arnie” Fuentebella. 

Sec. Castriciones will be joined by USEC Emily O. Padilla of DAR Support Services Office (SSO), USEC Virginia N. Orogo of DAR Policy, Planning and Research Office (PPRO), DAR Regional Office V Asst. Regl. Director for Operations Romulo Britanico, DAR CamSur II CARPO Odessa Cabezudo and DAR Camarines Sur II Program Beneficiaries Development Division CARPO Rodel Martirez.

In a press statement, DAR ROV Regional Information Officer Geri Buensalida said that Sec. Castriciones’ visit is in line with the agency’s Serbisyong DAR-to-Door program.

“Sec. Castriciones will personally hand over land titles to 124 farmers in Caramoan town who are tillers of 331.4913 hectares of agri lands through the agency's Serbisyong DAR-to-Door program. The titles will be distributed in Bgy. Gogon, Lahuy island,” Buensalida stated.

On May 19, Wednesday afternoon, the secretary and his team are expected at the Provincial Capitol of Camarines Sur where he will be received by Camarines Sur 2nd District Representative Luis Raymond Villafuerte and Camarines Sur Governor Miguel “Migz” Villafuerte.

One hundred seven (107) farmers will be the beneficiaries of the much-awaited land titles at a ceremony to be held at the Provincial Capitol Convention Center in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Joining the distribution of titles are the USECs Padilla and Orogo, Atty. Ramon SG Cabañez Jr of DAR CamSur II and CARPO Rebecca Tarog and OIC PARPO-II Gay L. Labad, both of DAR CamSur I.

The presentation of the newly organized ARBO at Manubay estate will be led by Progresibong Nagkakaisang Magsasaka President (PNM) Arturo V. Bismonte.

According to Romulo Britanico, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, the Secretary chose to personally deliver the land titles to the ARBs to show that despite the pandemic and despite the distance the DAR is ready to give them help and support.

A total of an aggregate area of 665.2274 hectares of lands comprising of 379 individual certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs), covered under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), will be distributed to 231 identified farmer-beneficiaries in the province.  

The secretary will also distribute 255 certificates of land ownership award covering a total area of 333.7361 hectares of land.

The CLOAs to be distributed cover landholdings in Calabanga, Ocampo, Pili, Goa, Presentacion, Sagnay, San Jose, Tigaon, Tinambac, Iriga City, Buhi, Bato, Nabua, Balatan, Libmanan, Pamplona, and Bula. (PIA5/Camarines Sur, with reports from GBuensalida-DARV)
