DA, Pagbilao SK to establish urban garden, encourage youth to become farmers

PAGBILAO, Quezon, May 17 (PIA) --A model urban garden that would encourage the youth to become farmers will soon be established in Barangay Mapagong in this municipality.

Pagbilao Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Joseph Manuel Go Luce said during the distribution of agricultural interventions of the Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) and the Office of the 1st District of Quezon Rep. Wilfrido Mark M. Enverga on May 12.

SK Pagbilao initiated the establishment of the urban garden with the help and guidance of the DA-4A and Rep. Enverga.

Enverga” said Luce.

DA-4A OIC-Regional Executive Director Vilma M. Dimaculangan and House Committee Chairman for Agriculture and Food Rep. Enverga led the distribution of the agri interventions.

Assorted packs of vegetable seeds, plant growth enhancer, knapsack sprayers, grass cutters, garden tools, plastic crates, and seedling trays needed for the setting up of the urban garden were turned over to farmer members of Samahan ng Maggugulay sa Bayan ng Pagbilao, Samahan ng Maggugulay ng Barangay Talipan, Ibabang Bagumbungan Watermelon Farmers Association, and Food Always In The Home.

(CPG, PIA-Quezon with report from Reina Beatriz P.
