60.27% of Bohol frontline medical workers complete COVID-19 vax

CORTES, Bohol, May 22 (PIA) -- Of the 26,114 Boholano medical frontliners who have been given the first shot of the vaccine against coronavirus disease (COVID-19), around 15,740 have been given the second shot to give them complete protection from acquiring severe symptoms should they contract COVID-19. while taking care of the sick. 

This comprises 60.27% of the medical and healthcare workers who have completed their full vaccination, a report from the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force on the management of Emerging Infectious Disease (BIATF) showed.

In its May 21, 2021 annex to the COVID-19 report, the BIATF said of the 42,949 initial data on those medical workers, the day’s statistics appear to have been updated to 41,854. 

According to the report, of the 15,775 medical frontliners in the master list, 10,634 have been given the first dose while 5,141 have completed the second dose for the vaccine. 

Leading three towns in the district on their vaccination accomplishment in numbers are Tagbilaran City with 4,580 given their first jab and another 2,060 with their second jab.

Also on top are Loon town with 1,200 for the first injection and 450 given their second injections, and Tubigon town with 900 given the first jab and 680 on their second jabs. 

For District 2, of the total 12,268 medical frontliners in the priority list, 7,154 have been given the first jabs while 5,114 are already completing their protection after their second jabs.

Ubay town in the second district leads the most number of inoculated medical frontliners with 1,450 receiving their first jab and another 1,100 with their second jabs.

After Ubay is Inabanga town with 875 for their first shot and 730 for their second shot, while Talibon town had 800 frontliners given the first jab and 400 given the second shot. 

For District 3, from the total 13,811 in the medical frontliners master list, 8,326 have completed their first injection while 5,485 received their second shot. 

Leading the towns in vaccination accomplishment is Jagna with 1,200 healthcare frontliners given their first dose while 700 given their second shot. 

After Jagna is Valencia with 570 frontliners for the first dose and 350 for the second dose. 

Since March 6, 2021 when the first batch of vaccines arrived, a total of 70,020 doses have arrived, according to the BIATF based on data from the Provincial Health Office.

With 41,854 medical workers given their first and second shots, Bohol vaccine consumption is at 59.77 percent. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
