55 CBRP-PRRD graduates in Maasin City are TUPAD beneficiaries

MAASIN CITY, May 21 (PIA) -- A total of 55 graduates from the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program – Project Renewal Recovering from Drugs (CBRP-PRRD) in this city are beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged workers (DOLE-TUPAD).

Maasin City Public Employment Service Officer Rey Francis I. Tan, in a short talk said, the graduates will carry out clean-up activities and will work for 30 days in identified dengue-infested areas within the city.

“They are just waiting for the documents to be completed, before these beneficiaries will start their job,” Tan said.

They will be cleaning those stagnant waters as well as do the “search and destroy mosquitos and its breeding places” to address the occurrence of dengue in each area of responsibility.              

“They will be paid P315 per day for 30 days, from the DOLE-TUPAD program,” Tan added.

The 55 beneficiaries who were identified and recommended by the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council) in Maasin City underwent a one-day orientation on anti-dengue topics at the  Liga ng Barangay Office here last May 18, 2021.

DOLE’s Labor Officer Lyka Labor also presented and oriented the beneficiaries about the TUPAD project. (ldl/rgc/PIA-SoLeyte)
