225 Vizcayano youths benefit from DOLE's SPES

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, May 18 (PIA) - At least 225 youths in the province will be given employment through the Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE) Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).

Governor Carlos Padilla said the beneficiaries will be assigned to various tasks and jobs such as clerical duties, home vegetable gardening, online research, managing social media sites and materials, online profiling and pre-school online class assistant, among others.

"Our SPES beneficiaries will be involved with public health crisis-related works where they can also earn income to sustain their schooling," he said.

The SPES provides jobs for students and Out of School Youth (OSYs) aged 15 to 30 years old in compliance with the implementation of community quarantine in the country.

The SPES is being implemented in various areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Modified General Community Quarantine( MGCQ).

SPES beneficiaries maybe assigned in their respective communities to reduce their exposure to the COVID-19.

The SPES beneficiaries' salaries will be shouldered by the DOLE and the PLGU with 60-40 percent sharing respectively. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
