UPLB to serve as vax site

CALAMBA CITY, April 22 (PIA) - The University of the Philippine - Los Baños has opened its Copeland Gymnasium to serve as a venue for the COVID-19 vaccination drive led by the Municipal Health Office.

The state university and the municipal government’s partnership is in line with the agreement between the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), which aims to establish vaccination center in schools to expand the country’s inoculation capacity.

In a statement, the Municipal Government of Los Baños said the opening of the UPLB vaccination site is an important chapter in their town that shows the partnership between the government and the education sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Malaking tulong ang inisyatibo ng UPLB upang mas maraming mabakunahan sa bawat araw at mapataas ang proteksiyon ng ating komunidad mula sa nakahahawa at nakamamatay na virus,” the statement further read.

[UPLB’s initiative is a great help so that more people can get vaccinated everyday and increase the community’s protection from the contagious and deadly virus.]
