Reg’l Land Use Committee approves North Samar prov’l dev’t physical framework plan

CATARMAN, Northern Samar, April 24 (PIA) -- The Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) approved the Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation - Enhanced Northern Samar Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP), according to Provincial Planning Development Coordinator Engr. Romeo M. Cardenas.

Cardenas said the enhanced disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation of the province’s PDPFP for calendar year 2018-2023 was approved on the condition that the plan period be extended from 2021-2030 during the first quarter RLUC virtual conference on April 21, 2021.

Cardenas informed that findings and recommendations of the regional committee be complied prior to its endorsement to the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development for approval.

The enhanced PDPFP for 2021-2030 of Northern Samar embodies the hopes, aspirations, and shared dreams of its people to become a caring, resilient, ecologically balanced, highly responsive, functionality integrated and equitably growing agro-industrial tourism hub of the province.

The planning officer emphasized that the province’s development vision is consistent and aligned with Governor Edwin Ongchuan flagship program “Nortehanon Marig-on, Mainuswagon, Malipayon.”

He added that the updated PDPFP introduced a new spatial framework clustering the province into 6 Growth Nodes based on the ridge-to-reef and river basin approach and based on the inherent resources and potentials of the area that are envisioned to facilitate and bring about the desired progress and steer the people towards a Nortehanon Marig-on, Mainuswagon, Malipayon.
