NCRPO's Libreng Sakay benefits 60,000 commuters; more than 79,000 food packs, health kits distributed

CALOOCAN CITY, April 24 (PIA) -- National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief PMGen Vicente Danao Jr. has reported that based on the recent data from CAD Regional Scorecards in NCRPO's COVID-19 responses, awareness campaign and socio-economic impact mitigation efforts from March 31 to April 22, 2021, they have distributed:

1. Relief/Ayuda
Beneficiaries= 52,946
Food Packs= 37,769
Health Kits= 41,349
Medicine/Vitamins= 4,975
Cash Assist= PHP 67,999.00

2. Libreng Sakay
Number of Trips= 13,428
Passengers Served= 60,018

3. Community Mobilization
Activities= 9,979
Mobilized Persons/NGOs= 31,957

4. COVID-19 NCRPO ECQ/MECQ Awareness Campaign

General Danao has led the on-ground distribution efforts as part of his campaign to reach out to less fortunate communities.

“Our primary mandate as law enforcers is to ensure the safety and security of our people. But the NCRPO extends this to help impoverished sectors that are often underserved.”, Danao said.

The NCRPO chief also emphasized that it is through the sacrifice of police personnel that they are able to extend much needed assistance to the public despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Alam namin ang hirap na inyong pinagdadaanan ngayong panahon ng pandemya kung kaya’t narito ang buong pwersa ng kapulisan upang kayo ay matulungan sa ano mang paraan na aming makakayanan," Danao said.

"Ang mga ayudang aming ipinamamahagi ay mula sa mga pinagbuklud buklud na sahod ng boluntaryong ibinahagi ng kapulisan ng Team NCRPO at mga galing sa mga taong may mabubuting kalooban na patuloy na nagbibigay ng tulong at donasyon. Hindi kami magsasawang ibahagi ito sa inyo.” he added. (PIA NCR)
