NBI opens satellite office in Maasin City

MAASIN CITY, April 23 (PIA) - - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is now serving the people of Maasin City and its neighboring towns with the opening of its satellite office in the capital town of the province.

It is the second NBI satellite office found in the province. Another service point was established in Sogod, Southern Leyte earlier.

During the formal opening last April 14, 2021, Governor Damian Mercado and Maasin City Mayor Nacional Mercado together with NBI Regional Director Jerry Abiera, led in the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newly opened government service center.

Mayor Mercado, in an interview with local media, said the presence of the NBI Satellite Office in the city is a great help to the people of Maasin City and the neighboring towns, as well.

“With the opening of NBI satellite office, people need not spend more to get their services as clients travel as far as Tacloban City or Sogod just to get their NBI clearances, certifications."

Mayor Mercado further disclosed that the city government provided for the free space, deployment of personnel from the city government to help NBI organic staff, computers, and refurbishment of the entire satellite office.

He added that the establishment of the much-needed office particularly those seeking jobs, traveling abroad, among others is a partnership between the National Bureau of Investigation and the city government of Maasin. (nbq/esg/PIA SoLeyte)
