Iligan gov’t urges public to continue implementing health protocols

ILIGAN CITY, Apr 16 (PIA)--The local government of Iligan firmly called on the public to carry on minimum standard health protocols now that the city has recorded an increase in the number of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) confirmed cases.

[Citizens, incidents here in Iligan are rising, our positive… Even those who were already vaccinated, first and second dose, still continue in taking care, being vigilant, looking after our body.]

[Let us still wear our face mask, still implement BIDA Solusyon. This is not just for ourselves but this is also for our families and those we know.]

Lim also reiterated that citizens must not display overconfidence with today’s presence of COVID-19 vaccines as these are just added protection.

“Kining bakuna muprotekta ni sa atoa isip second layer of protection and confidence.

[This vaccine will protect us as a second layer of protection and confidence. This is not a guarantee that we will not be 100% infected. What it can guarantee 100% is that in case we get infected, it will not be worse, it will not be severe. It will be just like the flu because we already have existing antibodies.]

Meanwhile, Lim cleared that the hiking up COVID-19 cases in the city did not negatively affect the ongoing vaccination.

[So far, it did not affect the recipients of the vaccine because our vaccinees are still here. In fact, in my estimation, maybe those who will want to get vaccinated will increase because of the rapid escalation of our positive.] (CRG/ PIA-ICIC)
