TESDA-NCR distributes toolkits to Parañaque STEP graduates

PASIG CITY, March 7 (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-National Capital Region MuntiParLasTaPat (Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Taguig, Pateros) distributed toolkits to 93 graduates of its Special Training for Employment Program (STEP).

Parañaque City Representative Joy Tambunting, together with TESDA-NCR MuntiParLasTaPat Acting District Director, Atty. Marichelle de Guzman, and TESDA-NCR Regional Director Florencio Sunico led the distribution of toolkits to STEP graduates who finished the Hilot Wellness Massage program.

Congresswoman Tambunting emphasized that her goal is not just to give them the toolkits, but most importantly, teach them how to utilize the toolkits to make their lives better.

Regional Director Sunico relayed Secretary Lapeña’s congratulations to the scholars for completing the program. Sunico stressed their privilege to be part of the program and encouraged them to appropriately use the learning and the starter toolkits that they received.

Likewise, former Congressman Gustavo Tambunting also joined in the program and personally thanked TESDA for the opportunities given to the Parañaqueños.

STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needed by the communities and promotes employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.

It aims to provide skills and training opportunities for the beneficiaries in the barangays/communities to make them employable and productive. (PIA NCR)
