PASIG CITY, March 25 (PIA) -- The Pasig City Government has temporarily suspended the operations of some business establishments in the city deemed as either non-essentials or possible places of infection amid the COVID-19 spike.

In an advisory, the city government released Executive Order No. PCG-20, s. 2021, adopting Memorandum Circular 21-11, s. 2021 issued by the Department of Trade and Industry on the implementation of temporary measures and enhanced compliance monitoring to address the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The following business establishments and activities in the city are suspended until April 4, 2021:

  • Gyms and fitness centers
  • Internet cafes
  • Spas and full body massage places

To recall, Metro Manila mayors earlier decided to close gyms, spas, and internet cafes in the region during the period of stricter general community quarantine.

The move to temporarily close these establishments was said to be upon the advice by the medical experts.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved IATF Resolution No. 104, s. 2021, placing under general community quarantine (GCQ) the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, together with the cities and municipality of the National Capital Region, and prescribed additional restriction measures in the said areas to ensure the utmost protection of the health of the Filipino people.
