Loreto town seeks aid to upgrade access to tourism areas

CAMIGUIN, Mar. 24 (PIA)--Targeting to further improve facilities and access roads in boosting tourism in the area, the Municipal Government of Loreto, Agusan del Sur encourages investors to venture in their area as well as the national government to pour in more tourism projects.

“Kami po ay nag-eencourage ng mga investors na sana po ay merong magkalakas loob na mag-invest sa atin dito para i-upgrade man lang natin ang mga transportation natin para sa ganun mas lalong maattract 'yung mga tourists na pumunta sa lugar na ‘to,” Loreto Mayor Doandre Bill Ladagat said during the Network Briefing News with Communications Sec. Martin Andanar, March 24.

(We encourage the investors to invest in our area so we can upgrade our transportation and more tourists will be attracted to visit the area)

Featuring tourist spots in the area, Ladaga said Loreto has the Bonsai Forest and Black Beach No. 2, which are often visited by locals and tourists for their rich flora and fauna.

Though they are still not fully open for tourism, Loreto has noted an increase of local tourism in the area. Thus, the local government unit (LGU) speeds up their projects on improving the facilities and creation of buildings and villas around the town.

"Sa ngayon po hindi muna [magbubukas para sa turismo]. 'Yun ang naging agreement ng buong probinsya kasama po natin diyan ang League of the Municipal Mayors ng Dinagat Islands. Nagkasundo po kaming lahat na bigyan muna kami kahit na isang buwan para obserbahan po muna natin 'yung pagbubukas muli ng ating turismo ng ating probinsya," Ladaga said.

(As for now, we are not yet open for tourism. That is the agreement of the whole province together with the League of the Municipal Mayors of Dinagat Islands. We have agreed that towns will be given at least one month to observe the reopening of tourism in our province)

On paving the way to economic recovery, Ladaga urges their residents to continuously follow the minimum public health standards as they also made a new setup for the protocols. He also calls on the national government to help the area recover from the losses incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. (RTP/PIA10)
