Lagawe MPS-initiated activity serves more than 200 villagers

LAGAWE, Ifugao, March 23 (PIA) - - More than two hundred residents of Dulao in this municipality were served last week in an outreach activity initiated by the municipal police station as part of the activities in the observance of   National Women’s Month.

The one-day event started with a program with Lagawe Women’s Federation President Angeline Guinid as guest speaker.  In her speech, she stressed the role of women in the family and the importance of having a mother.

Guinid also enjoined the women of Dulao to think and find ways to protect and improve themselves and family such as safe and peaceful household management, giving importance to education, career and personal growth and development.

 “Practice cleanliness in thoughts, in words and deeds and physical surrounding. Cheer up and make yourself better as a woman and don’t allow yourself to be abused in any form,” she said.

Engineer Clarence Buhong, one of the sponsors of the activity, acceded   to the importance of women in society.  ‘For married men like me, I acknowledge the important roles of women in the family and community. I believe that behind the success of a man is a woman,” he said.

Main services provided by the team to the people Dulao, the farthest barangay of Lagawe in Lower Ayangan, included free haircut, manicure, pedicure, blood typing and tooth extraction. .

An information drive on anti-illegal drugs, anti-terrorism and the whole of nation approach and vaccination programs of the government was also conducted.

Major Primitivo Narag, the executive officer of the 54th Infantry Battalion, explained the whole of nation approach program of the government to end local communist armed conflicts towards inclusive and sustainable peace as contained under Executive 70 signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Lagawe Municipal Police Station Chief of Police Captain Reynold Timmango also encouraged all parents to continuously guide their children in their studies and to know their whereabouts and activities for them not to be misguided by anti-government elements.

Other speakers are from the Municipal Health Office and officials of the 145th Special Action Company based in Lamut town.
