Ilocos Sur logs 14 new COVID-19 cases

ILOCOS SUR, Mar. 26 (PIA) - The province of Ilocos Sur posted 14 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as of Wednesday night. 

Six of them are from Sta. Maria; two are from Narvacan; and one each from Bantay, Cabugao, Caoayan, Candon City, Santa and Sto. Domingo.

The new cases brought to 460 the total number of reported COVID-19 infections in the province.

Of these cases, 75 cases are active while recoveries are up by 381 and four were fatalities.  

The latest cases include the following patients:

IS-C447 is a 27-year-old female returning resident from Barangay Cuantacla in Cabugao. She is asymptomatic, has a travel history in the National Capital Region (NCR), and has extensive contacts. 

IS-C448 is a 54-year-old male authorized person outside of residence (APOR) from Zone 1 in Bantay. He is asymptomatic, has a travel history in Pampanga, and has extensive contacts. 

IS-C449 is a 34-year-old female local from Barangay Parioc 1stin Candon City. She has fever and cough, has no travel history but exposed to a confirmed case in La Union, and has broad contacts. 

IS-C450 is a 24-year-old female local from Barangay Ag-agrao in Sta. Maria. She is asymptomatic, has no travel history but exposed to patient IS-C411, and has extensive contacts.

IS-C451 is a 12-year-old male local from Barangay Nalvo in Sta. Maria. He is asymptomatic, has no travel history but is exposed to patient IS-C420, and has broad contacts.

IS-C452 is a 34-year-old male local from Barangay Nalvo in Sta. Maria. He is asymptomatic, has no travel history but exposed  to patient IS-C420, and has extensive contacts.

IS-C453 is a 37-year-old female local from Barangay Nalvo in Sta. Maria. She is asymptomatic, has no travel history but exposed to patient IS-C412, and has extensive contacts. 

IS-C454 is a 54-year-old female local from Barangay Poblacion Sur in Sta. Maria. She has fever and colds, has no travel history but exposed  to patient IS-C419, and has extensive contacts.

IS-C455 is a 46-year-old male returning resident from Barangay Basug in Santa. He has colds, has a travel history in Bulacan, and has broad contacts.

IS-C456 is a 52-year-old male returning resident from Barangay Pantay Tamurong in Caoayan. He has colds, has a travel history in NCR, and has limited contacts. 

IS-C457 is a 34-year-old female returning overseas Filipino from Barangay Sived in Sto. Domingo. She is asymptomatic, has a travel history in Italy, and has extensive contacts.

IS-C458 is a 25-year-old female returning resident from Barangay Ambulogan in Narvacan. She is asymptomatic, has a travel history in NCR, and has broad contacts.

IS-C459 is a 28-year-old male local from Barangay Banglayan in Narvacan. He has cough, has no travel history but exposed to an antigen test positive case, and has broad contacts.

IS-C460 is a 19-year-old female local from Barangay Poblacion Sur in Sta. Maria. She is asymptomatic, has no travel history but exposed to patient IS-C419, and has extensive contacts. 

On a lighter note, data collected by the GMA News Research team from the Department of Health revealed that even though COVID-19 has spread across the country, 24 municipalities in the country remain free of the dreaded disease as of March 14. 

Of this number, the town of Gregorio del Pilar in Ilocos Sur was listed as one of the COVID-free municipalities. (JCR/AMB/PIA Ilocos Sur)
