PASIG CITY, March 28 (PIA) -- Another GMA artist joins the roster of personalities for the #EndTB campaign.

During the recent observance of World TB Day, GMA artist Rocco Nacino joined USAID, World Health Organization and DOHs #EndTB campaign.

I believe we are all gathered here today to commemorate World TB Day and to join other nations that have expressed their commitment to eradicate tuberculosis in communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Rocco.

He said that in joining the campaign, he would be able to impart valuable information about TB through social media.

Sa aking pagsali sa inyong kampanya, ako po ay magbabahagi ng mga mahahalagang impormasyon tungkol sa TB using my social media platforms and of course, with the support of GMA Network.”

Nacino acknowledged health workers who are in the frontlines for the government’s integrated COVID-19 and TB response.

Saludo po ako sa lahat ng mga community healthcare workers sa pamahalaan at sa pribadong sektor na patuloy na nagsakrispisyo para sa ating mga kababayang maysakit na tuberculosis at COVID-19 two killer diseases in these most challenging times.”

Rocco, who is also a licensed nurse shared his empathy to healthcare workers for their dedication and commitment especially in this time of pandemic.

Ang TB ay nakamamatay pero nagagamot kaya sa aking pagsali sa inyong kampanya ako po ay magbabahagi ng mga mahahalagang impormasyon tungkol sa TB. Using my social media platforms and with the support of GMA Network we will promote USAIDs TB Platforms social behavior change activities like "Ayos Ka Lungs?" and Tibay ng Dibdib campaign to inform the public about TB symptoms and availability of TB services amid COVID19.”

The Philippine World TB Day Virtual event was hosted by World Health Organization, USAID Philippines and Department of Health. The event was hosted by Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco.
