DOLE chief to NV mayors: Avail our livelihood programs

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 9 (PIA) - The provincial chief of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) here has encouraged all town mayors of the province to avail of their livelihood programs to help their poor constituents. 

"Our various programs are still ready to help in municipal mayors in providing jobs and other sources of income for our poor villagers," DOLE Provincial chief Grace Pomar said.

Pomar made the call during the recent Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council(PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and Provincial Task Force (PTF)- End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).

She bared that last year, their COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) benefited 5,937 individuals which was above their target of 5,400 and funded with more than P29 million.

Pomar also said their Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers(TUPAD) program also gave jobs to 7,216 persons through the agency's funding of more than P36 million.

"We still have funds for the TUPAD program since we are still at 89.71 percent of our 8,043 target individuals," she said. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
