Bayombong eyes farmers center

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 20 (PIA) - A Farmers Agricultural Trading Center(FATC) will be built here to help farmers in marketing their products.

Mayor Ralph Lantion said the P10 million - worth structure is part of the on-going phase 3 construction of the Public Market in this town.

"While our new market is being built, taxes and rents will not increase for our market stakeholders. This market came from your taxes," he said.

He said that with the FATC, financing for agricultural production, trading and marketing information will be provided for the benefit of the farmers.

′′Farmers from the 25 barangays of Bayombong are free to display their products and goods, the sellers will not have to worry about high rents because we don't have debt for building this project," Lantion added.

He said the funds for the Public Market Construction Project phase 1 involves Php15 million from DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, Php25 million for phase 2 from Senator Sonny Angara with an additional funding of Php15 million and Php20 million in phase 3 and P10 million this year through the initiative of Rep. Luisa Cuaresma.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
