DIFFUN, Quirino, March 24 (PIA)—Regional Director Joel Gonzales of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that some 9,000 workers from this province will be hired under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) this year.

Speaking at the Awarding Ceremonies of DOLE financial assistance to TUPAD,  Tabang, displaced land-based and sea-based Filipino workers due to coronavirus or AKAP and Balik Pinas-Balik Hanapbuhay (BPBH) here, Gonzales said an additional P27,500,00.00 will be downloaded to the province.

“Governor Dax Cua and Congressman Junie Cua requested for additional funds from Secreatary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III and it was immediately approved,” Gonzales added.

The said amount will benefit a total of 5,000 workers  who will be employed under the TUPAD program.

“Hindi lamang po yan, binanggit  din ni Governor kanina ang tungkol sa P20 milyon para sa mga manggagawa sa  turismo, may karagdagang  4,000 workers, kaya all in all, 9,000 workers ang makikinabang sa programa ng DOLE sa pamamagitan ni Sec. Bello at Governor Cua,” Gonzales said.
