500 beneficiaries in Iloilo get livelihood aid grant

ILOILO CITY, March 28 (PIA) - - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD ) 6 has released a total of P3.5 million livelihood assistance grant (LAG) to 500 beneficiaries in the province of Iloilo.

Around 300 drivers, market vendors, small enterprise owners, and farmers in Alimodian town were granted the livelihood assistance grant totaling to P1.5 million on March 24, 2021.

The next day, March 25, a total of 200 beneficiaries from the municipality of Maasin also received their livelihood assistance amounting to P2 million. Beneficiaries include drivers, solo parents, vendors and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

LAG is a financial aid granted to eligible beneficiaries under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD in partnership with local government units.

Households with low-income or whose small business have been affected by the pandemic are among the priority beneficiaries under the grant.

The assistance grant is one of the recovery and rehabilitation programs of the government intended for families whose livelihood were affected due to the quarantine measures amid the health crisis. (JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo/Photo courtesy of DSWD 6)
