5 Paranaque areas placed under ‘calibrated, granular’ lockdown

PARAÑAQUE CITY, March 25 (PIA) -- The Parañaque City Government has placed at least five areas under “granular and calibrated” lockdown after several residents got infected with COVID-19.

"First day of calibrated and granular lockdown, CENRO headed by Mr. Bernie Amurao with Barangay Captain Noel Japlos conducted sanitation and disinfection at the following areas of Barangay San Isidro: Greenheights Subdivision, Matatdo Homes, Kraus Village, Nersan Compound, Camella Homes-3," Mayor Edwin Oliverez said today on his Facebook page.

Regular sanitation and disinfection are also being conducted in the barangay, through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO). 

During the duration of the lockdown until April 7, 2021, only Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs) will be allowed to go out, according to the post.

"The calibrated and granular lockdown starts this Wednesday, March 24, 2021 around 6 a.m. until Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at exactly 12 midnight," Mayor Edwin said.

The mayor, together with Parañaque Representative Eric L. Olivarez, City Councilor Tess De Asis, Councilor Binky Favis, City Administrator Fernando Soriano, CENRO Chief Bernie Amurao, Punong Barangay Noel Japlos attended Situational Briefing headad by Parañaque-PNP PLTCOL Felimon B Cacap conducted inspection on-site on the first day of the lockdown to ensure its smooth implementation.

Based on the city’s report on Tuesday, March 23, Barangay San Isidro recorded the most number of active cases among the 16 barangays with 123. 

The city, on the other hand, logged a total of 994 active cases with 144 new cases.

According to the city officials, food packs will be distributed by the local government to those affected by the lockdown. (PIA NCR)
