4th private hospital in CDO inoculated with CoronaVac

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, March 8 (PIA)--As the COVID-19 vaccination rollout activity continues, the Polymedic Medical Plaza is the fourth private hospital in the city inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.

The said hospital has 527 healthcare workers who received the CoronaVac (Sinovac) vaccines, which were part of the 17,400 vials that arrived last Thursday, March 4 and the Department of Health (DOH)-10 expects that all those in the master list of said hospital would be inoculated.

“I am very happy we have a very good response in the Polymedic Medical Group. Hopefully, all of you in the master list get vaccinated within three days’ time,” Dr. Ellenietta Herundina Maria Victoria N. Gamolo, DPOH-10 OIC regional director said.

Gamolo also said the DOH would want to give the vaccines to the most high-risk personnel in the health system in the level 2 and level 3 hospitals.

“We must not delay the giving of vaccines because we want to prevent more deaths due to COVID-19 and we want to prevent the overwhelming of the health system capacity,” Dr. Gamolo added.

Meanwhile, the medical director of Polymedic Medical Group, Dr. Ruben Go, thanked the personnel and staff of the hospital for their positive response to the vaccination rollout and that he hopes that those who are willing to be vaccinated would help encourage their co-workers to get themselves inoculated.

“Please encourage your co-workers to come and be vaccinated. This is the only time that we can combat the pandemic, the COVID 19 virus. This is our chance that we will be back in our old ways such as malling and eating outside,” Go said. (JAKA/PIA10)
