336 hired under TUPAD in Kalinga


The 336 TUPAD beneficiaries  during  their orientation and briefing before deployment. 

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga,  March 23 (PIA) --The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has  hired 336 individuals  under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD)  in  a bid to provide relief this time of the  COVID-19  pandemic.

The 336 are deployed in the various municipalities for maintenance and rehabilitation of roads, school buildings and other government establishments. They will work  for 15 days and  get paid P350 per day. 

DOLE through Department Order No. 173-17 provides temporary employment to disadvantaged sectors through the TUPAD.

DOLE-Kalinga Head Avelina Manganip said the hiring is a tie-up project with the provincial government as implementing arm responsible in the deployment.

The  PLGU also  sourced  out P2 millioM fund for the project  from the allotment of Sen. Joel Villanueva. 

Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban hopes the project will  help small families cope with the economic effects of the pandemic.(JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
