TESDA-NCR continues distribution of starter toolkits for STEP graduates

PASIG CITY, Feb. 19 (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority–National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) continues to distribute starter toolkits for Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) graduates.

TESDA-NCR Regional Director Florencio Sunico, Jr. and Makati City Representative Luis Campos, led the recent distribution of the toolkits for the graduates of Hilot (Wellness Massage NC II).

The toolkits were distributed the toolkits for beneficiaries of 11 barangays under TESDA’s Pasay Makati District: Brgy. Pembo, Brgy. East Rembo, Brgy. Pitogo, Brgy. Rizal, Brgy. Comembo, Brgy. Pitogo, Brgy. Nuevo, Brgy. South Cembo, Brgy. South Side, Brgy. West Rembo, and Brgy. Viejo.

According to TESDA-NCR, a total of 298 STEP graduates received their starter toolkits after completing their training with TESDA.

Representative Campos and RD Sunico both reminded the scholars to make use of the skill that they learned from availing the program to help them with their livelihood, even after the pandemic.

The graduates, likewise, shared their gratefulness for the opportunity and learning from their training program.

STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needed by the communities and promotes employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.

It aims to provide skills and training opportunities for the beneficiaries in the barangays/communities to make them employable and productive. (PIA NCR)
