More TESDA STEP graduates receive tool kits

PASIG CITY, March 1 (PIA) -- More graduates of the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) receive tool kits to help them jumpstart their livelihood.

TESDA-NCR’s MuntiParLasTaPat (Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Taguig, Pateros) District Office recently distributed starter tool kits to 169 graduates.

Muntinlupa Representative Ruffy Biazon, joined by Regional Director Florencio Sunico, Jr., District Director Marichelle de Guzman, and Councilor Patty Boncayao, led the distribution of the tool kits to the graduates.

The recipients of these toolkits are graduates come from nine Barangays in Muntinlupa City who completed training programs in Cake Making (Leading to Bread and Pastry NC II), Cookery NC II, and Bread and Pastry Production NC II Bread Making.

Representative Biazon encouraged the graduates to take advantage of the internet to promote their products from what they learned from the training.

RD Sunico, likewise emphasized that these toolkits can be used to prepare food not just for their family, but also for livelihood, as this is the main purpose of their scholarship program.

STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needs of the communities and promotes employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.

It aims to provide skills and training opportunities for the beneficiaries in the barangays/communities to make them employable and productive. (PIA NCR)
