CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 23 (PIA) -- In the coming weeks, the Malabon City Government will be holding simulation activities in preparation for the localized COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
Mayor Antolin "Len Len" Oreta said at least 100 residents will be participating in the dry run, set to be held at the Malabon National High School, one of the vaccination sites selected by the local government.
"The participants would be coming from different sectors based on the result of the city's recent survey that focused on the public's confidence toward the vaccines," Mayor Len Len said.
“Malaking tulong na mailarga na ang bakuna kontra COVID dahil unti-unti na namang tumataas ang kaso ng mga positibo rito, at kailangan protektado tayo para makabalik sa dati ang ating ekonomiya,” Oreta added.
The city government, however, has yet to announce the schedule for the simulation exercise after forming a task group led by its City Health Department to focus on explaining and convincing the residents to be vaccinated.
Oreta earlier announced that the city is targetting to inoculate 30 percent, or at least 118,000, of its population initially, in its bid to achieve community immunity.
The mayor has also allotted P200 million for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines for this purpose. (PIA NCR)
