SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Feb. 13 (PIA) - Police operatives have arrested 242 most wanted persons (MWPs) in Region 1 through the intense implementation of the three - day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) from February 6 to 8, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel B. Peralta, the Region 1 police director, said that the conduct of the operations is part of the continuing efforts of the lawmen to manhunt all criminal offenders having a standing warrant of arrests as per instruction of PNP chief, General Debold M. Sinas.

“We are going to normalize the conduct of these simultaneous operations, to serve justice to the victims and their families. I am directing all provincial directors and chiefs of police to continue doing these to maintain peace and order in the whole of Region 1. This is a breakthrough that we were able to arrest these wanted persons because aside from serving justice, we also prevent these perpetrators to continue doing crimes,” said Peralta.

The intensified implementation of the SACLEO is focused on the arrest of the most wanted persons in the regional, provincial, and city/municipal levels.

Of the 242 arrested MWPs, three of them were regional top MWPs, 16 provincial MWPs, 58 city/municipal MWPs, and 165 other wanted persons.

Peralta said that the three arrested regional top MWPs were the alleged members of the Raul Sison Criminal Group and were identified as Albert Palisoc, Benjie Resultan, and Armando Frias, all residents of Urbiztondo, Pangasinan.

“The three arrested regional MWPs were among the 22 suspects in the 2019 ambush of former Pangasinan Governor and 5th District Representative Amado Espino Jr. They were arrested in Barangay Poblacion, San Juan, Batangas on February 7 through the service of warrants of arrest for murder, attempted murder, and frustrated murder by the operatives from the San Juan town police station in Batangas with the help of the police intelligence operatives from Batangas, Pangasinan and Region 1 Intelligence Unit,” Peralta said.
