DTI, NV PLGU strengthen pact for OTOP, SSF

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 21 (PIA) - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the provincial govenrment will strengthen its partnership for the full implementation of the One Town One Product (OTOP) services.

Henry Conel,Jr., DTI provincial director said they recently met with Juditte Asuncion, head of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PROCEDE) for the operationalization of the activities and projects for 2021 such  as the OTOP.

"This collaboration will focus on the full operationalization of our OTOP HUB and other services for our Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs)," he said.

Conel added that the OTOP, located in barangay Magsaysay in this town will soon be opened with more local SME players.

He also said that two Shared Services Facilities (SSF) under the care of the provincial government such as the Packaging and Labelling Services Project and the Processed Fruit Toll Packaging Center Project will be strengthened.

Conel further said that the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the PLGU NV and DTI Region 2 for these projects will be done within the first quarter of the year.

"We also came up with a list of activities and programs to strengthen the operations of these projects and forge partnerships on SME development," he said.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
