DILG urges NV brgys to set-up quarantine facilities

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 14 (PIA) - An official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said barangays should set-up their Quarantine Facilities (QFs) as Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) continue to arrive.

Chrizza Mae Constantino, DILG's Local Government Capability Development Unit Chief here said barangays' QFs are needed to sufficiently accomodate persons that need to undergo quarantine in the province.

In a recent joint meeting of the Provincial COVID-19 Task Group (PCTG) and Provincial Health Board (PHB), Constantino bared that a total of 2,165 ROFs have already arrived in Nueva Vizcaya as of February 8.

She said that based on their inventory of community QFs, many barangays still lack these facilities.

"Our barangays need to set-up their QFs to help in the prevention of local transmission from the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to ecnourage our barangay local government units and monitor their compliance," Constantino added.

Based on their inventory of barangays with usable QFs in the province, Alfonso Castaneda town has 5 barangays with QFs with 34-bed capacity, Ambaguio has 2 barangays with QF with 5-bed capacity, Aritao has 22 barangays with QFs with 66 - bed capacity (21 are ready for use), Bagabag has 17 barangays with QFs with 125-bed capacity, Bambang has 16 barangay with QFs with 72-bed capacity, Bayombong has 12 QFs with 57-bed capacity, Kayapa has 30 barangays with QFs with 60-bed capacity, Quezon has 12 barangays with  17 QFs with 81-bed capacity, Sta. Fe has 3 QFs with 12-bed capacity, Solano with 1 QF with 3-bed capacity while Villaverde, Kasibu, Dupax del Norte, Dupax del Sur and Diadi had no data available.

According to Constantino, LGUs of the province also need to establish their Community Isolation Units (CIUs) with the required manpower and other resources which will be accredited by the Department of Health (DOH). (ALM/BME//PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
