Police Col Alfredo D. Baloran (ret.) head of the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said Davao City will not be in the eye of the storm but the trough will affect the city bringing moderate to heavy rains.

He said even when Auring was still a low-pressure area they have already been giving advisory to residents in Davao City. They have also contacted barangay chairmen who are head of their Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to prepare in their respective areas.

He said the City Government particularly the City’s DRRMC is continuously preparing for the arrival of Auring.

Baloran urged residents living in flood-prone areas, beside rivers and those living in landslide-prone areas, and also those in coastal barangays as strong winds will lead to big waves to be ready and look for safer places.
