Cavite remains under MGCQ along with Laguna, Rizal & Quezon provinces

TRECE Martires, Cavite Feb. 3 (PIA) -- The provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon in the CALABARZON region will remain under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) on February 1 - 28, 2021 upon recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID).

With the loosening of quarantine protocols under the MGCQ status, business operations and other activities are slowly being undertaken, mostly online using technology thru various applications for the LGUs' attempts to restart the respective cities/municipalities economies.

While face-to-face interactions are also conducted with strict observance of the health and safety protocols, activities promoting a healthy lifestyle like the Zumba sessions in municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, and Carmona just can't be denied an opportunity to be enjoyed by health conscious and active women in the province.

Meanwhile, the cockfighting industry in the province which had been closed since the beginning of the lockdown has been given the go signal to operate.

Mr. Arnold Tacos, operator of the New GenTri Sports Coliseum and the President of the Association of Cockpit Operators and Owners in the Province of Cavite is extremely grateful to Gov. Remulla for the consideration to the cockfighting industry which had been heavily affected by the pandemic.

By virtue of Executive Order no. 2 s. 2021 signed February 1 by Gov. Jonvic Remulla, effective February 2, 2021 the temporary operations of licensed cockpits and arenas are allowed in the province with provision of guidelines for strict compliance by cockfighting participants and personnel.

The order states that a first come, first serve limited slots in respective arena/coliseum will be implemented with a maximum of four persons per entry which is comprised of the manager, handler, gaffer, and assistant. There shall be No Paying Audience, trabisya, ulutan, bet collector (Kristo) to allow observance of physical distancing at all times. Minors and/or persons with health issues are not allowed entry into the venue.

The minimum health standards of mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield will be observed at all times inside the arena and the provision of alcohol/sanitizers and other disinfecting liquids is required from the management of the said establishment.

These guidelines had been duly considered and approved for temporary operations since the spectacle and the venue had been qualified by the IATF to be a 'super spreader' of the COVID-19 and can be revoked anytime a violation of the protocols  is commited and reported.
