Biliran guv offers incentives to LGUs for COVID-19 vaccination listing

NAVAL, Biliran, February 16 (PIA) Biliran Governor Rogelio J. Espina will provide incentives to LGUs  in a for COVID-19 vaccines listing in a recent Covid-19 IATF meeting.

The announcement could mean more names on the list of residents from the local government units who will submit for COVID-19 vaccination in Biliran province.

Governor Espina said he will give P100-K for barangays and P1-M for towns that can submit more names on the list of individuals who are willing to be inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.

However, he clarified that the incentive will be given by December 2021 based on the savings of the province.

The offer for an incentive came as a way of encouraging more Biliranons to enlist for COVID-19 vaccination.

Governor Espina wanted to achieve the required number of residents in the province to be submitted to DOH for the COVID-19 vaccination so the province will be given the COVID-19 vaccine allocation.

As of February 3, the province of Biliran through the provincial health office,  has identified the list for Priority Group A composed of 4,395 frontline health workers, 19,330 senior citizens, 33, 445 eligible indigent populations, and 489 uniformed personnel  totalling 58,192 individuals.

Vanessa Veloso-Ramirez, health education promotions officer of the provincial health office, said that the number will still increase as more Biliranons will enlist themselves for COVID-19 vaccination.

Biliran has already crafted the COVID-19 Activity and Contingency Plan which will serve as guide in the implementation of the vaccination plan of the government. (nbq/rsv/PIABiliran)
