Over P120,000 worth of shabu, MJ seized in CagVal on first week of 2021

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Jan. 10 (PIA)---Amid COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office No. 2 and the Police Regional Office No. 2 anti-drug operatives remain driven in their mandate to rid the region from the ills of drug use and abuse.

Just this first week of January 2021, three individuals in the Cagayan Valley region are now facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after joint operatives of the PDEA and the PNP have successfully implemented a buy-bust ops and issued a Search Warrant which led to the arrest of the said suspects.

In Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, a businessman included in PDEA's Provincial Targetlisted Drug Personality was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at Barangay Poblacion.

Recovered from the suspect were eight pieces of heat-sealed small transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing MOL 1 gram with estimated street value amounting to Php6,800.

In Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, a Search Warrant was issued to a 42-year-old male resident of barangay Cattagaman Nuevo which resulted in the confiscation of the following: 10 pcs. of transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing MOL 15 grams with an estimated value of Php120,000; one pc. 5.56 magazine; 29 pcs. 5.56 live ammunition; nine pcs .38 live ammunition; and assorted drug paraphernalia. The suspect is included in the PDEA's City Targetlisted Drug Personality.

In the same city, another Search Warrant was issued to a 20-year-old male resident of barangay Bagay which resulted in the confiscation of the following:one white paper containing dried leaves with fruiting tops suspected to be marijuana and four (4) pcs. transparent plastic sachets containing dried leaves with fruiting tops suspected to be marijuana weighing MOL 14.6 grams; four pcs. of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing MOL 0.07 gram;five pcs. live ammunition of 9mm;five pcs. live ammunition of cal. 45: and assorted drug paraphernalia.
