La Union towns  extend renewal of business permits

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Jan. 26 (PIA) – Various local government units (LGUs)  in La Union extended the  deadline for the renewal and application of business permits in their respective areas of responsibility.

Pursuant to  Section 3 of Republic Act 11494 or the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act which states that, “The state shall establish mechanisms to reduce the adverse impact of COVID-19 on the socioeconomic well-being of Filipinos”, at least five LGUs created resolutions for the said extension which is originally supposed to end on the 20th of January every year.

These are the LGUs of Balaoan, Caba, San Gabriel, Bacnotan and Rosario.

To avoid overcrowding and ensure compliance to  minimum health standards, the municipal governments also strategically created schedule for their clients.

In the Municipality of Balaoan, business owners or their representatives may secure permits until Jan. 30. A schedule per location of business is posted in the LGU’s official Facebook page.

For Bacnotan, those who wish to renew and to apply for business permits may do so until February 3 on a given schedule which depends on the nature of business.

LGU Caba sets the deadline on Feb.15; LGU Rosario until Feb.16; and LGU San Gabriel extends until February 20.

Entrepreneurs are required to present fully-accomplished application for renewal or new business, registration from the Department of Trade and Industry and/or Securities and Exchange Commission, barangay business permit, sanitary permit, contract of lease if applicable and other documents pertinent to the nature of business.

Further, any interests, fees and surcharges incurred during the extension period will be waived. (JCR/VHS/CGRC, PIA La Union)
