Guimaras allots over P3M for students’ miscellaneous fees

ILOILO CITY, Jan. 11 (PIA) - - The provincial government of Guimaras has allotted P3,654,139.00 under its Special Purpose Fund for the payment of the miscellaneous fees of some 43,548  junior and senior high school students in public schools in the island province.

Governor Samuel Gumarin Jr. led the distribution of certificates of full payment and checks to the Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP), Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP) and Philippine Red Cross (PRC) fees on January 7, 2021 at the Provincial Food Court in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.

The ceremonial distribution was also attended by Guimaras Asst. Schools Division Superintendent and Officer-In-Charge Dr. Ma. Roselyn J. Palcat.

Gumarin turned over the allocated check worth P1,223,750.00 to BSP Guimaras which was represented by  BSP Guimaras Coordinator Abraham Balibalos and Council Scout Killeen Peñalber.

On the other hand, GSP Vice President for Field Dr. XZ Dignadice, Technical Assistant Ms. Mariz Alimpungat and GSP Guimaras Coordinator and Education Program Specialist II Arnen Tanaleon-Rivera accepted the check amounting to P1,288,529.00 for GSP.

For the PRC, the allocated check worth P1,141,860.00 was received by Ms. Evelyn G. Garcia, Ms. Beverly G. Gando and Ms. Jennebell Omadle.

According to the province’s Information Section this initiative of the provincial government of Guimaras to provide free miscellaneous fees to junior and senior high students in the province has been implemented for the past seven years.  (Guimaras Information Section/JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo)
