Toll holiday in Valenzuela City part of NLEX ends at noon today

CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 16 (PIA) –Toll holiday is ending at 12:01pm, December 16, 2020, as Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian conditionally lifted the suspension order on NLEX Corporation's business permit.

The City Government of Valenzuela and NLEX Corporation have come to a meeting of the minds this morning, 10:30 am, December 16, 2020.

Both parties believe that this is the right direction to take to ease the burden of the riding public.

Both parties have mutually agreed on the following points:

- Barriers Up in all RFID lanes in the toll plazas within Valenzuela City from 5am to 10pm daily, toll fees will be collected during these hours

- Barriers down from 10:01pm to 4:59am in all RFID lanes for safety reasons

- Reinstatement of cash lanes in strategic locations in the toll plazas in the city

- RFID system and account management upgrade to address growing consumer complaints to be completed on or before January 30, 2021

- Both parties have also agreed to create a technical working group, composed of CGOV and NLEX key personnel, who will continuously meet to innovate traffic and account management initiatives. (PIA-NCR)
