Thousands of beneficiaries receive DOLE’s TUPAD Bayanihan 2 in CamNorte

DAET, Camarines Norte, Dec. 16 (PIA) – A total of 5,120 beneficiaries received financial assistance under the Tulong sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor (DOLE) in this province.

During the discussion via Zoom for the radio program “Talakayan sa PIA” over DWCN-FM held Dec. 14, DOLE Provincial Head Engr. Arturo Corbe said that more than P26.6 million was allocated for the program wherein a total of P17,729 were already disbursed as of Dec. 11.

He said under the TUPAD program for the Bayanihan 2, each beneficiary will receive a total of P5,000 as wage for cleaning, and beautification among other jobs in their barangay.

A displaced worker will work 4 hours a day with a wage of P310 per day. They will complete the 16 days and 31 minutes to get paid for P5,000.

He said that DOLE, in partnership with the local government units of the province and municipalities is continuously conducting payouts throughout the province.

On the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) for the formal sector, a total of 2,317 beneficiaries were targeted for a one-time financial assistance of P5,000. It has an allocation of P11,585. Distribution is still on-going.

The DOT also partnered with the DOLE to finance its CAMP program that benefited some 373 workers with allocated budget of more than P1.8 million and beneficiaries already received P5,000 each, he said.

Some 26 teachers and non-teaching personnel from private and public schools also received P5,000 for CAMP education sector program, he said.

Corbe clarified that a beneficiary of the said programs under Bayanihan 2 should not be a recipient of financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Agriculture (DA) among other agencies.

The DOLE is also working for the approval of financial assistance for the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) in the province under the TUPAD program, he said.

The distribution of starter kits, Nego Kart or Negosyo sa Kariton and other programs which are funded by their regular funds still continues.

The said programs are also in partnership with the local government units in the municipalities and barangays.

However, he added that routinary inspection for the establishments was suspended due to pandemic unless there is complaint that need to be addressed.

He said that for complaint, the DOLE continouly assist workers to settle dispute with their employers.
