More metro cops complete training on basic urban gardening

PASIG CITY, Dec. 13 (PIA) -- Another batch of police personnel from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recently completed their skills training on “Basic Urban Gardening Towards Agri-Crops Production” conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training Center in NCR.

Nine Metro Manila police personnel completed the training that includes the basics on potting, planting seeds on seed trays, creation of self-watering urban container, pruning, and other helpful gardening practices designed for urban areas.

Rizal S. Bautista, Center Administrator of RTC-NCR said that the skills training for NCRPO officers in urban gardening is a contribution to the Executive Order No. 70, s. 2018 or the “Institutionalizing the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace, creating a national task force to end local communist armed conflict, and directing the adoption of a national peace framework” in collaboration with the TESDA-NCR Regional Office, NCR-Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) and the PNP National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

The closing ceremony was graced by Police Captain Jobie A. Senario, Chief of the NCRPO’s Community Affairs Section, RCADD.

According to TESDA-NCR, the new batch of police officers who completed their training will add to the pool of NCRPO personnel who will become Barangay Community Trainers as part of the PRLEC cluster.

Earlier, 10 police personnel from the NCRPO also completed their skills training on basic urban gardening. (PIA-NCR)
