Employees look forward to long weekends, holidays for 2021 

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Dec. 30 (PIA) – Two days before the start of another year, working people browse through the new calendar to check on long weekends and holidays.

Among the long weekends for 2021 include February 12, 13 and 14, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively, wherein  February 12 is the Chinese New Year.

For April, Maundy Thursday will be on the first and Good Friday on the second day of the month.

The Araw ng Kagitingan falls on April 9 or a Friday, making April 9, 10 and 11 another long weekend.

National Heroes Day on August 30 falls on a Monday.

November 1, All Saints' Day, falls on a Monday, while November 2 , is considered an additional non-working holiday, making it another long weekend.

Other holidays include February 25, the EDSA People Power Anniversary; May 1 as the Labor Day; June 12 as the Independence Day; and December 8 as the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception.

As the pandemic is not yet over, Marga Padilla, government employee, looks forward to the holidays of 2021.

“This year, we were restricted to travel due to the pandemic but next year, I hope we can have the chance to travel even domestically and help at least the tourism sector to recover,” Padilla shared.

She added, “Our body, mind and soul yearn for it thus I hope the long weekends next year will be maximized by going somewhere.”
