Capiz Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras manifests the support of the Capiz provincial government in the campaign to end the local communist armed conflict during the "Wall of Commitment" signing as part of the Panay Peace Summit 2020 in Tapaz town today, Dec. 11.

In 2019, Contreras also said that his administration will be one with the former rebels in their aspiration for a peaceful and progressive life in the countryside as embodied in President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70.

During the program, thirty former rebels and supporters received financial assistance and food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) aside from those who were given “Bundle of Joy” gifts.
