77,000 plus families in Navotas get 'Pamasko'

CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 27 (PIA) -- At least 77,745 Navoteño families received their "Pamasko" in the form of Christmas hams and gadget giveaways from the City Government of Navotas.

"Our employees visited the homes of each Navoteño family to make sure they get their Pamaskong Handog. We wanted to make them feel that despite trying times, our city government will strive to make their holiday season a little more cheerful," Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

Through his Facebook page, Mayor Toby also launched online games with corresponding prizes in order to help Navoteño students struggling with their online classes.

"We could not provide gadgets to all our students, but we could give them equal opportunity to win one through games. The games also gave them a chance to nominate other students who do not have their own cellphone," Tiangco said.

"The year 2020 has been difficult for all of us, but we could always help make each other's burden a little lighter," he added. (PIA NCR)
