Ifugao LGUs, youth association deliver aid to TY Ulysses victims

AGUINALDO, Ifugao, Nov. 18 (PIA) - - Two local government units and a youth association in the province responded to the call to help the victims of typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan Valley.

The LGUs of Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo and) delivered their respective assistance consisting of assorted goods to Cagayan and Isabela for the intended beneficiaries.

The Ifugao Youth Association (IYA)   president Micah Salvador with the various youth organizations in the 11 municipalities facilitated a donation drive dubbed “Baddang Ifugao (Ifugao Bayanihan) for the victims of typhoon Ulysses.

Last  November 15, the IYA  with the assistance of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office delivered to Santiago City the first batch of  assorted goods, clothings and other materials given by various donors who responded to the call of the association.

Meanwhile, the LGUs of Aguinaldo and Alfonso Lista transported their respective assistance yesterday for distribution to the affected families.

Aguinaldo Mayor Gaspar Chilagan, Jr. with some municipal heads personally delivered to Ilagan, Isabela food packs, gallons of water and sacks of rice funded by the municipal government.

As one of the nearest neighbors, it is their responsibility to help one another, he said.  He also thanked the volunteers for the repacking of the relief goods.

LGU -Alfonso Lista lauded the donors, volunteers and to those who organized the collection of relief goods. Mayor Edralin Alipio appealed to his constituents through the punong barangays for voluntary donations.

Other organizations in the province are also conducting fund drives for typhoon victims especially the families of the mudslide casualties in Banaue, Ifugao. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
