Caloocan helps flood-hit Marikina in clearing, rehab efforts

CALOOCAN CITY, Nov. 16 (PIA) -- The Caloocan City Government over the weekend continued to assist flood-hit Marikina City in its ongoing clearing and rehabilitation efforts.

"The clearing operation of Caloocan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and BFP-Caloocan in Marikina City continues," Mayor Oca Malapitan said on Facebook.

Malapitan also took time to thank the whole composite team lead by the City Disaster Risk Reducation and Managment Office (CDRRMO) head Dr. James Lao and action-officer Alex Nadurata.

"The Caloocan City Government will continue to help as much as it can to accompany towns or cities, like Marikina City who faces extreme challenges caused by the effects of Typhoon Ulysses," the local chief executive said.

To recall, over the weekend, Caloocan deployed a composite team to extend relief and help in the clearing of areas in Marikina City that were left devastated by Typhoon Ulysses.

Malapitan instructed personnel from the DRRMO and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFO) to assist Marikina in removing debris, clearing obstructions, in coordination with the city’s DRRMO. (PIA NCR)
